A metaphoric poem based on a relationship that was once run down by too many cracks in the road, but was later fixed by new spark plugs! Ha!
I wrote this in ten minutes so it is hardly my best, but I have been working more on my fiction than poety. Thoughts and suggestions are always welcome! :)
There is a distance between our dream
Circling down a tunnel of blinding lights
Echoes of our devotion piercing the night
Speed bumps in the life of a road
Stretching further apart in yellow lines
We are parallel, narrow in this life
Puddles of emotion traces the tires of an endless circle
Water pellets form over our rim
Slicing into the felts of our sin
We sink into the pothole of darkness
Waiting for a new template to cover up
The crash that we created of our love
A light begins to surface at the end of the tunnel
We said a prayer to drive forward
Speeding, connecting our cord
To the quiet sparks that fly
Flaming inside with a new wire
We lit our aged world on fire

Wow. Very, very cool. Don't know a whole lot about poetry but it sounds great to me. :)
